Grant County’s Telephone Notification System (TNS) allows public safety officials to send a recorded message via telephone to thousands of homes in the event of an emergency or significant event. TNS is a computer-based program which utilizes a combination of database and Geographic Information System mapping technologies. The system can quickly target a precise geographic area and saturate it with thousands of calls. TNS offers a variety of options that allow the public safety officials to custom-build a notification system to meet the exact needs of the community.

This system’s guidelines are currently being designed by a steering committee.
