Many jobs today require potential employees to have a "clean background" before they can be hired.

Childcare workers, teachers, and security guards are just some of the positions that require an applicant to submit to a criminal background check so the potential employer can verify that the applicant meets certain requirements in filling a vacant position.

Fingerprinting services for employment security purposes are processed at the Sheriff's Office in Ephrata:

• Mondays and Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Sheriff's Office will gather the fingerprint information, apply the information to the customer-provided card, and then the potential employee must bring the documentation back to his/her potential employer.

You must provide the fingerprint cards. 8" x 8” cardstock is the only acceptable paper type for fingerprinting cards. Regular printer paper is not acceptable. Our system and State Patrol's scanner system will not accept standard printer paper. Only the cardstock form. 

Fees payable by cash or check only.

• The fee for fingerprints is $10.00 for up to 2 cards

• Additional card processing fee $10.00
