The mission of the
Gang Unit is to reduce criminal activity by
persons identified, or suspected, of being gang
members or associates. Priority is given to
crimes of violence, weapons possession, drug
dealing, and any criminal activity in or around
schools.
Other
responsibilities assigned to the Gang Unit
include:

Developing
gang intelligence including, but not limited
to, information regarding gang leaders,
organizational structure, rules, practices,
areas) of criminal activity, methods of
recruitment and selection, etc.

Developing and
maintaining working relationships with other
law enforcement agencies at the local,
state, and federal levels regarding gang
activity

Assisting with
the training of law enforcement officers,
schools, community groups, youth groups, and
others on gang activity
This Unit is
funded through a Community Development Block
Grant through the Washington State Dept. of
Commerce.
